Mission Statement

The mission of the Career Technical Education program is to cultivate the potential in our students by integrating rigorous classroom instruction with relevant, work-based experiences that inspire, guide and empower them for post-secondary college and careers. Our CTE program will bridge the academic, employability and technical skills that prepare our students for leadership roles in the working world.

With Modesto City Schools CTE courses, students learn skills and career knowledge that set them on a path to a bright future. Students exit our programs prepared for college and career with a strong academic background, the knowledge of the opportunities and requirements for a career, and with valuable workplace skills. When industry and academia are combined, students understand the importance of learning and how it applies to their future careers and studies. Students taking a CTE sequence perform better on assessments, graduate at higher rates, and are more successful in both college and the job market.

MCS has a long history of operating successful Career Technical Education programs. Today’s CTE programs are rigorous and relevant programs that combine academic knowledge with technical skills and application of learning in hands-on, real-life contexts to prepare students with viable skills for today’s increasingly complex workforce.
