Summer Food Program for Youth and Teens Ages 1-18

Access to nutritious food is crucial all year round, not just during the school year. That's why Modesto City Schools remains dedicated to providing nutrition support to our community throughout the summer.

This year, our Summer Food Program will provide free lunches daily to anyone aged 18 and under at 23 park locations across the district. The program runs on weekdays until July 31, excluding the June 19 and July 4 holidays, when sites will be closed.

"Our goal through this program is to ensure every child goes back to school eager to learn by providing them with the nutrition they need during the summer," explained Criss Atwell, Senior Director of Nutritional Services. “Studies show that students who participate in our meal programs consume a healthier range of foods and demonstrate better academic performance. This commitment underscores the district's broader mission to nourish the potential of every child.”

Summer Food Program Details: Children and teenagers ages 1 to 18 can participate. No income requirements, registration, or identification are necessary to receive a meal. Please note that a child must be present to pick up a meal and must eat their lunch on site.
