The Franklin School Site Council (SSC) is composed of the principal, classroom teachers, school personnel, parents, and community members. Together, the SSC focuses on all student needs and the vision of Franklin Elementary School. The School Site Council meets on average six times per school year. ELAC is responsible for the following tasks:

• Advising the principal and staff in the development of a site plan for English learners and submitting the plan to the School Site Council for consideration of inclusion in the School Plan for Student Achievement.

• Assisting in the development of the schoolwide needs assessment.

• Ways to make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance.

• Each ELAC shall have the opportunity to elect at least one member to the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC).

Districts with 31 or more ELACs may use a system of proportional or regional representation. Each California public school with 21 or more English learners is required to form an English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC). Click SSC & ELAC for more information.

To be admitted to Kindergarten, your child must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2023. To be admitted to Transitional Kindergarten, your child must turn 5 between September 2, 2023 and April 2, 2024.

To register children, parents/guardians go to the registration gateway. We strongly advise you to have all the required documents and review guides before beginning the registration process.

1. Proof of child’s date of birth (certified copy of a Birth Certificate, Notarized Affidavit of Birth, Baptismal Certificate, Physician’s Cert. /Hospital Cert., County Recorder’s Cert., Passport, or Family Bible. Ed Code 48002).

2. Child’s current immunization record including: 4 Polio (3 is acceptable if the last dose was given on or after the fourth birthday), 5 DTaP (4 is acceptable if the last dose was given on or after the fourth birthday), 2 MMR (both given on or after the first birthday), 3 Hepatitis B, and 2 Varicella (chickenpox) or proof that the child has had chickenpox confirmed by a physician.

3. Verification of residence (utility bill, receipts from rent or property tax payments).

4. Proof of child’s health screening within the last 12 months (physical exam).

5. Proof of dental exam within the last 12 months.

Students who are not up to date on their immunizations will not be allowed to attend school.

The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) Plan provides for expanded program activities that support the whole child, and students’ Social and Emotional Learning and development before/after school and during winter, spring, and summer non-instructional school days for TK-8 students.
