Powderpuff football and volleyball games are an annual tradition at Johansen during Fall Homecoming Week. Junior girls compete against senior girls in an intense flag football game; junior and senior boys cheer the girls on from the sidelines. There is also a competitive volleyball game that puts the junior boys against the senior boys. An informational meeting is held a month before the beginning of Fall Homecoming that outlines eligibility requirements and practice schedules.
